The project is a winning proposal for the international competition, Beam Camp. As a team of two architects, we designed a timber floating creature fitted with manual steering mechanisms to be operated by children. From a distance, the structure gives an impression of a living creature moving on the lake. Working as a designer and builder we focus from the begging on the fabrication aspects of the project. The main structure is a wooden raft with plywood ribs to support the lightweight cladding. The project has been published in several printed and digital magazines and it was selected as the best design for kids of 2015 by Domusweb for its success in integrating children as users and builders.
